Soldier Candleholder. I've always liked taking familiar objects and casting them in unfamiliar roles. By changing the scale of the standard toy soldier I wanted to turn it into a sculpture, and by reinterpreting its function -- so the figure literally casts light into darkness -- I hoped to make it an object of peace.
